The Wheel: New Work from Kala The Arts |

The Wheel is the latest choreography from Kala The Arts and was premiered at Central Studio, Basingstoke. It is intended to tour The Wheel in late 2002/2003. We would like to hear from any venues interested in staging this performance.
The Wheel features an original script by Andy Lane whose previous work includes TV series "Space Island One" and six TV tie-in novels, the latest of which is "Ghost in the Machine". He is currently working with Charlie Higson on some new projects.
Choreography is by Sushmita Pati and Gitanjali Praharaj who are also the two dancers.
Narration for the Wheel is by actor John Truscott whose previous credits include James Bond film "The Spy Who Loved Me" and the acclaimed BBC series "I, Claudius".
Music is taken from the album Passages by Philip Glass and Ravi Shankar.
In the second half of the performance, Sushmita and Gitanjali will demonstrate some classical Odissi items, "Frontiers" choreographed by Guru Kelucharan Mahapatra
